Tragedy at University of Nairobi: Student Fatally Stabbed by Roommate After Bathroom Dispute

A shocking incident has rocked the University of Nairobi community after a student was fatally stabbed in what police describe as a dispute over the use of a bathroom.

The victim, identified as Brian Wambui, a third-year student, succumbed to injuries believed to have been inflicted by his roommate during the altercation. According to police reports, the confrontation quickly escalated into violence, leaving Wambui with fatal stab wounds.

The suspect, also a student at the university, was arrested by police in Kikuyu shortly after the incident. He is currently in custody and assisting detectives with investigations. Authorities are working to piece together the circumstances that led to the tragic death, with preliminary findings pointing to a heated disagreement over bathroom use.

The University of Nairobi fraternity has been left in shock following the incident. Students described Wambui as a friendly and focused young man, adding that his untimely death is a huge loss not only to his family but also to the academic community.

Police have assured that justice will be served, while counselors and student leaders are calling for calm and urging the university to prioritize conflict resolution mechanisms and mental health awareness among students to prevent such tragedies in the future.

The body of the deceased has been moved to the morgue as investigations continue.
