Gifted makeup artist Hawa Kauthara, who is the brain behind HK Faces, a beauty spa in Kampala, has since joined Team Black Market Records, which is by far the winning team in the Ugandan music industry.
Hawa, who is in her early twenties, is one of the illustrious makeup artists in the country bent on taking music videos in Uganda to another level by enhancing the looks of our artist, thanks to her magical touch!
Born on March 27th, and raised in Kawempe, a Kampala suburb, Hawa attended Bilal Islamic Institute in Kakiri, Wakiso District for O-Level, after which she joined Greenlight Islamic S.S for her A-Levels and later, Shan School of Beauty, Kansanga, where she obtained a Diploma in Cosmetology.
A passionate beautician since childhood, Hawa says she started her career when she was still at school, where she would do makeup for her fellow students during co-curricular activities like Music Dance and Drama (MDD), and at home where she would do makeup for her siblings and neighbours’ kids.
It was however after attending Shan School of Beauty that she honed her skill as a beautician and makeup artist, which has over time enabled her to find her footing in the music industry.
During the time she has been working with Black Market Records, Hawa has showcased her unique skill set by working on the following music videos as a makeup artist; ‘Bad Man Do’ by Johnny Benzx ft. Emilian Starz & LBK Nandeboy, ‘Dictionary’ by Emilian Starz, ‘Kampala Gyal’ by Agami Tonny, ‘Binzaali’ by Tarel Tala, ‘Fake Love’ by Beni Boyz and ‘My City’ by Legion East.
