In 2022, Kelly faced additional charges in Chicago, leading to a 20-year sentence for child pornography and enticement of minors. Nineteen years of this sentence are being served concurrently with his previous 30-year term, effectively extending his imprisonment by one year.
As of now, R. Kelly is incarcerated at a federal prison in North Carolina, with a projected release date in 2045. Recent appeals to overturn his convictions have been denied, including a petition to the U.S. Supreme Court.
