Kenyan High Commission in Dar es Salaam Assures Citizens of Safety Amid Post-Election Unrest

The Kenyan High Commission in Dar es Salaam has moved to reassure Kenyans living in Tanzania of their safety following reports of post-election unrest in parts of the country.

In a communiqué released on Wednesday, the Mission emphasized that the welfare and security of Kenyans residing in Tanzania remain its highest priority. Officials noted that they have already engaged with relevant Tanzanian authorities to ensure adequate protection for Kenyan nationals during this period.

According to the statement, the High Commission has been in close communication with security agencies and local administrators to monitor the situation and address any emerging concerns that may affect Kenyans living, working, or studying in Tanzania.

“The High Commission encourages the Kenyans in Tanzania to continue with their lawful normal activities as usual,” the Mission stated, signaling confidence in the measures put in place by the host country.

The assurance comes at a time when regional tensions have raised anxiety among expatriate communities. However, the High Commission’s prompt communication aims to maintain calm and provide clarity for Kenyans who may be worried about their safety.

The Mission also encouraged Kenyans to stay informed through official channels and to reach out to the Consular Section should they require assistance or have emergency concerns.

As the situation continues to evolve, the High Commission has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the welfare of its citizens and strengthening cooperation with Tanzanian authorities.
