Kamene Goro Opens Up on Near-Death ICU Experience That Changed Her Life

Kamene Goro has revealed a deeply emotional chapter of her life, opening up about a near-death experience during a past hospital admission that left her fighting for survival. The outspoken media personality shared that she was hospitalised for 36 days, spending a significant part of that time in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

According to Kamene, the situation became critical when doctors informed her that she had only 12 hours to live. This shocking prognosis forced medical professionals to act swiftly, performing an emergency procedure that ultimately saved her life. The experience marked a turning point, not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well.

She described her time in ICU as traumatic, revealing that many of the patients she was admitted alongside did not survive. Kamene disclosed that she was the only one who made it out alive among several critically ill patients, a reality that left a lasting impact on her perspective about life. Witnessing death so closely reshaped how she views relationships, loyalty, and personal priorities.

In her candid revelation, Kamene also touched on the emotional challenges she faced outside the hospital bed. She shared that her husband, DJ Bonez, was not present during this critical period. According to her, he later explained that it was too difficult for him to see her in such a vulnerable condition. This absence added another layer of emotional strain during an already difficult time.

Meanwhile, Kamene’s family faced financial challenges as her mother struggled to raise funds to cover mounting hospital bills. In a desperate attempt, her mother even reached out to someone who owed Kamene money, only to be blocked instead of receiving help. This experience further highlighted the harsh realities of loyalty and support during times of crisis.

Despite the pain and challenges, Kamene Goro emerged stronger, using the experience as a life lesson. She emphasized that surviving such an ordeal changed her mindset completely, making her more intentional about the people she keeps around her and the energy she invests in relationships.

Her story has since resonated with many Kenyans, sparking conversations around health, emotional support, and the importance of showing up for loved ones during their most vulnerable moments.
