In a surprising turn of events, Tanzanian socialite Hamisa Mobetto’s recent marriage to Yanga SC footballer Stephanie Aziz Ki has been met with disapproval from her new mother-in-law, Sanata Ki. Despite the couple’s lavish traditional wedding and Nikkah ceremony held on February 16, 2025, at Nnuur Mosque in Mbweni, Dar es Salaam, Sanata Ki has publicly expressed her dissatisfaction with the union.

Sources reveal that Sanata Ki disapproves of her son’s choice, leading to tensions within the family. This familial discord casts a shadow over the couple’s celebrations, which included the payment of an impressive dowry of Tsh555 million (approximately Ksh27 million), comprising 150 cows and additional monetary gifts.

Despite the familial challenges, Hamisa and Aziz have showcased a united front, sharing moments of joy and bonding with their children during the wedding festivities. The couple has also announced plans for a white wedding ceremony scheduled for February 19, 2025.

The public rift highlights the complexities that can arise in blending families and the impact of parental approval on marital unions. As Hamisa and Aziz embark on their new journey together, they face the challenge of navigating familial expectations and societal pressures.
