Kenyan R&B singer Otile Brown has fired back at fellow artist Bien after the Sauti Sol star appeared to mock the recent resignation of Otile’s manager, Mumbi Maina.
The controversy started when Bien posted a video on his social media celebrating Otile’s misfortune with a cheeky twist. In the clip, Bien plays the viral chorus of his song “All My Enemies Are Suffering,” while a headline about Mumbi Maina stepping down as Otile’s manager flashes on the screen.
This did not sit well with Otile Brown, who quickly responded with a heated post on his Instagram stories, blasting Bien for what he termed as unnecessary pettiness and “clout chasing.” Otile accused Bien of being jealous and threatened to expose deeper industry secrets if the mockery continued.
“You should be the last person mocking anyone… let’s not open certain files, bro,” Otile wrote. “We all know what you’ve done to people behind the scenes. I’ve been quiet but don’t mistake it for weakness.”
Sources close to Otile suggest that the singer was already dealing with internal struggles following Mumbi’s resignation, making Bien’s post feel like salt on an open wound. Mumbi had managed Otile through some of his biggest career moves, including international collaborations and his latest tour plans.
Bien, however, has not responded directly to Otile’s outburst, though he reposted fan comments suggesting he was simply “enjoying his own music.”
Fans on social media have been split, with some calling out Bien for being insensitive, while others say Otile is overreacting and that Bien’s post was just typical industry banter.
This isn’t the first time the two stars have exchanged shade. Their rivalry has been brewing subtly over the years, fueled by competition in the male-dominated Kenyan music scene.
As of now, Mumbi Maina has not commented publicly on either the resignation or the drama between the two artists.
