Academy Award-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o is set to share the stage with her brother, Junior Nyong’o, in a unique family collaboration. The siblings will portray twins Viola and Sebastian in Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” during the upcoming Shakespeare in the Park production at Central Park’s Delacorte Theater in New York City. The play is scheduled to begin previews on August 7, 2025, with an official opening on August 21, and will run through September 14.
Lupita Nyong’o expressed her excitement about the project on social media, stating, “I’m thrilled to reveal some midsummer madness to look forward to: my brother Junior Nyong’o and I will take the stage as TWINS in Twelfth Night.”
Junior Nyong’o, a recent graduate of the University of California San Diego’s MFA program, will be making his Shakespeare in the Park debut alongside his sister. The production boasts a star-studded cast, including Peter Dinklage as Malvolio, Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Andrew Aguecheek, Sandra Oh as Olivia, and Moses Sumney as Feste.
This collaboration marks a significant moment for the Nyong’o siblings, bringing their talents together on one of theater’s most iconic stages.
