Why Kahush Took a Break from Music – The Real Story

Kenyan rapper Kahush, known for his breakout hit “Mi Siwezi”, has been noticeably absent from the music scene, leaving fans wondering why he stepped back from his rising career. The young artist, whose real name is Kahu Mburu Kagwe, is the son of former Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe and quickly became a fan favorite with his unique style and witty lyrics.

So, why did Kahush take a break from music?

Prioritizing Education

In 2021, Kahush surprised fans by announcing that he was leaving Kenya to pursue higher education abroad. He enrolled at Nottingham University in London, where he is studying Politics and International Relations. His decision to focus on academics led to speculation that he was quitting music for good.

On his Instagram stories, he left a heartfelt message to his fans, saying:
“Bye KE! See you in a few years. It’s been so fun entertaining you. Love!”

Is He Really Done with Music?

Despite his academic commitments, Kahush hasn’t completely abandoned his passion for music. In a surprise move, he dropped his fifth studio project, a 14-track album titled “Kiama”, catching many off guard. This unexpected release shows that while he may not be as active as before, his love for music still burns strong.

Will Kahush Return?

With his studies still ongoing, it remains unclear when or if Kahush will return to full-time music. However, his recent album proves that he still has a lot to offer, and fans can only hope that he will continue to drop projects in between his academic pursuits.

For now, we can respect his decision to prioritize personal growth and education while still keeping an eye out for any surprise drops from him. Would you like to see Kahush make a full comeback to the music industry? Let us know in the comments! 🎤🔥
