Police in Mombasa have intercepted a major drug consignment in a daring daylight operation at the busy Changamwe Roundabout. Acting on intelligence, officers stopped a Buscar bus arriving from an upcountry route and conducted a thorough search.
Inside the luggage compartment, they discovered a 90-kilogram sack cleverly disguised as a bale of second-hand clothes — a common tactic used by traffickers to evade detection.
Moments later, a man arrived on a motorcycle to collect the package. Unaware of the police presence, he was promptly arrested at the scene. Authorities say the suspect remains in custody and will be arraigned in court in the coming days.
